We are extremely proud of our talented, dedicated teaching staff and our welcoming school. Our teachers come from a diverse range of music backgrounds as well as all being professional musicians, having real world experience. They all have a wealth of knowledge, are highly skilled, passionate, enthusiastic and are great mentors. All our teachers are very friendly, supportive, caring and all have a working with children check. They will guide you to grow as an artist, and to reach your goals at your pace. From hobbyest to professional, for all ages. We offer instruction on drums, guitar, bass, ukulele, keytar, vocals, piano and the keyboard for all styles of music. Our teachers offer a fun, creative, engaging, informative and personalised approach, with our one on one lesson’s in an inspiring, supportive, encouraging and safe environment. We ensure positive learning experiences and you will learn new skills, reach high levels, stimulate rhythm, coordination and imagination. Anything is possible to achieve with dedication and practice. Every individual has the capability to succeed. We reconise achievements by encouraging our students to be involved in our monthly concerts and regular recordings for their growth. We have our own stage at the school to perform on, this means students can invite family and friends to see there growth, whilst remaining a completely private show. We see rapid improvement in our students with this regular performance and recording based goal. Students are more focused and motivated to build self esteem and confidence. On their music journey students feel rewarded seeing these achievements for their hard work and dedication, making TMMSA a unique school.

KEN HENNESSY – BASS, GUITAR AND UKULELE TEACHER BEGINNERS/INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED
Ken Hennessy is a talented down to earth bass/guitar player. He has been playing for over 15 years and has extensive experience in all areas of the industry from performing to writing and recording. He has performed professionally in various original bands such as My Piranha, Stackhouse and Last Mistress in which he has toured Nationally and put his stamp on numerous records over the last 9 years. Ken plays bass and guitar (depending on the lineup) professionally in cover bands and on recording sessions as well. Melbourne's most patient ukelele and guitar instructor
Recently he has been teaching bass, guitar and ukulele at local Primary schools. Ken is available for one on one private bass, guitar and ukulele lessons. He covers all ages and abilities from hobbyist to professional, including contemporary styles such as rock, pop, blues and funk. He is a very committed, supportive teacher with lots of enthusiasm, patience, and he is very friendly allowing him to impart his musical experience and knowledge with a relaxed teaching approach. He believes enjoyment and inspiration are the key areas of focus for students, he tailors lessons to suit the needs of the student so they get the most out of each lesson working at their pace. Ken teaches music genres that the students are interested in and makes sure they are learning the essentials of playing along. Kens lessons are lots of fun and you learn without thinking too much. You will break down songs, watch, learn, listen, jam and play. Ken will also work on performance confidence. He makes sure students understand the importance of practice during the week to get the best out of their music learning. Also his engaging lessons help students develop skills that allow creativity, confidence and talent to grow. Inspiring students and encouraging them to reach their goals, give them the tools to achieve them whilst growing as an artist on their unique music journey.
Ken is available on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons/evenings.
SARA–JANE NEEP – VOCALIST/SINGING, PIANO, KEYBOARD AND KEYTAR TEACHER BEGINNERS/INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED
Sara-Jane Neep is an energetic and driven singer, songwriter, pianist, and music teacher. She has worked and trained alongside both nationally and internationally acclaimed performing artists and producers. She has been playing and performing professionally in bands for 17 years ranging in all styles from classical to jazz to contemporary styles. Sara-Jane has 3 independent original solo releases under her belt, one of which won her an Arts Tasmania and Triple J amplified award for best contemporary, jazz and/or classical artist of the year. ...
Sara-Jane studied jazz voice at CQCM (BAJP) before returning to Tasmania to complete her masters (MTEAH). She then recorded her first two independent releases. In 2013 she moved to Melbourne to continue performing, writing, recording and teaching. She is now in the process of writing and producing for her 4th independent solo release.
Through her musical training and experience, Sara-Jane is a highly trained teacher with an academic background who is able to cater to all ages. She covers all learning capabilities from hobbyist to professional. Sara-Jane teaches classical, jazz and contemporary styles. She is a friendly, patient, supportive and dedicated teacher with a very energetic, positive, upbeat personality. Sara-Jane is excited to be imparting her passion, knowledge and skills in singing, piano, keytar and the music industry to her students. Her lessons are both driven, focused and fun. She inspires and motivates her students, builds confidence and gives them the tools to achieve their goals to grow as a artist on their own unique music journey.

RUBY McLELLAN – VOCALIST/SINGING TEACHER BEGINNERS/INTERMEDIATE
Ruby is an exciting and dedicated professional vocalist, songwriter, recording artist and voice teacher. Ruby has been working as a professional for ten years. With a life long love for music she studied music performance at JMC academy majoring in vocals (BENT). Sing like the next Australian Idiol with Ruby
Since graduating from university, Ruby was a vocalist in Clairy Browne and the Bangin Rackettes and has also been touring professionally as a backing vocalist in Australia, New Zealand, America, Japan and Europe. Ruby is a passionate songwriter and has also been involved in many recordings, she is currently working on her new band. Ruby is an amazing vocalist and she loves to inspire and motivate others. Ruby is available to teach children and adults of all ages, hobbyist to professional with an emphasis on contemporary styles. Ruby is particularly passionate about working with young girls and empowering them through music. Ruby is a very dedicated teacher with a wealth of knowledge to share, plus she likes to focus on technique and vocal health. Her lessons are informative, fun and creative and she will guide you to a clear understanding of your voice and give you the tools to sing well and meet your goals. Ruby believes that with the right instruction any one can learn to sing. Her teaching style is caring, supportive and relaxed, where students feel nurtured and confident to develop their technique whilst growing as an artist on their unique music journey.
Ruby is available on Thursday afternoon/evening and Saturday morning/afternoon.

VENOM (STEVE BROWN) – DRUM TEACHER BEGINNERS/INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED
Steve Brown known in the music world as VENOM, has been playing drums for over 40 years, It all began when one of his older brothers bought a second hand drum kit, Venom was nine at the time. Best drummer in Australia
He has toured professionally within Australia and around the world over the last 35 years. His fiery drumming has provided the pulse for a diverse range of artists in scores of local bands with hundreds of musicians. Sharing the stage with some of Australia’s most respected musicians and bands such as Electric Mary, Spy vs Spy, Mr Brown, Starworld, Nick Barker, Doc Nelson (The Angels) and Doug Parkingson to name a few. He has been involved in hundreds of session recordings where he delivers exactly what drums are required for the artist he is working with, making him one of the most sort after recorded drummers nationally. Venom is without a doubt one of Australia’s most extraordinary drummers having very strong understanding of rhythm and timing. Our drumming tutor with a young student
Venom has been teaching for over 21 years and has worked with a cross section of students from all abilities and backgrounds and has a flexible, supportive teaching style that helps attain goals, build confidence and he will give you the tools to achieve them. His methods are based on building the foundations of rhythm so the student can then go anywhere with any style from that foundation. His preferred teaching approach is to build enthusiasm for the drum kit and enjoyment rather than methodical structural lessons and also to learn the processes of playing drums.
His wealth of knowledge and experience will be a great advantage to any level student being a great mentor to all aspiring drummers from hobbyist to professional, he can cater for all ages and abilities and styles. His energetic personality will certainly keep his students enthused and excited about playing drums whilst growing as an artist on their unique music journey.

NOOSHIN FAGHAN PIANO AND VOCALIST/SINGING TEACHER BEGINNERS/INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED
Nooshin has been playing piano since she was 15 years old and started performing when she was 18 years old. She is a high-energy composer/arranger, conductor, pianist, singer and songwriter.
Nooshin recorded and performed with bands overseas professionally before moving to Australia over 6 years ago. Since then she has been performing in concerts and has composed/arranged music, which includes composing music played by the Melbourne Army Big Band. One piece of music she arranged that she also sung on “Don’t Worry Girl” was nominated for the best music video in the Martini film festival. She has also conducted ensembles and recorded original songs.
The Persian Princess that has the soft apprach to teaching Nooshin has also been involved in the Australia film industry having scored music for different film genres including short films, TV shows and animation such as The Sin of Lust (Winner of best vision in the seven deadly sins short film competition). She has also written music for TV commercials and documentaries including Saving Children’s Life’s Unchief TVC.
Since moving to Australia she has completed a Bachelor of Applied Music (composition), a Graduate Diploma of Music and a Masters of Music. (Contemporary practice). She has been teaching for over 11 years and is an experienced educator. She has taught internationally and in Australia as a music teacher to all ages and abilities for 6 years and to students from varying language backgrounds.
Nooshin teaches piano and singing, including popular styles like rock, pop, blues, jazz, classical and contemporary. With her comprehensive knowledge, education skills in music theory, composition, arrangements, conducting and film scoring she can cater for students wanting to learn these skills as well. She teaches all ages and abilities from hobbiest to professional. She is a very outgoing, friendly, warm, engaging and focused teacher. She strives to get the best out of her students, shares her in depth knowledge in the best and easiest way building a great bond with all.
Nooshin communicates with his students to determine exactly what they want to achieve and learn. She motivates and inspires them to aim high, gives students all the tools guidance and resources required to build confidence to grow as an artist on their unique music journey to achieve their goals.
She is a highly trained teacher with experience, knowledge and a wide range of styles that inform the teaching approach. Nooshin is a great mentor.

GABRIEL ATKINSON – GUITAR TEACHER BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED

Gabe grew up in a musical family, his father is a saxophonist and his mother is a singer, so music is certainly in his blood. Gabe always loved music since he was very little and started playing guitar at 8 years old and is classically trained. He then found his love for rock and electric guitar and certainly understands the hard work and dedication required to become good. Spending several hours everyday locked in his room practicing and playing music. He had his first band when he was 13 and has been playing professionally since he was 16. He is a natural born performer and feels completely at home on stage. Gabe is originally from New Zealand and has deep roots in the Australian music community and is well respected. Gabe moved to Australia in his early 20’s with Kiwi rock band Weta, they signed a major deal with Warner Records. This opened the door to extensive touring of Australia and New Zealand, many recordings, film clips and exposure to the national and international industry. Weta's debut album Geographica reached Platinum sales in New Zealand. The first Weta gig he played, was with Foo Fighters at the Wellington Town Hall. Weta played Big Day Out shows, Offshore Festival, Rocket Festival. Also supported Silverchair, Powderfinger, Shihad, Regurgitator, Jebediah, Magic Dirt, Killing Heidi and played with Motorace, Nitocris and Pre Shrunk on the Triple JJJ Turn Up Your Radio Tour. In 2007 Gabe was asked to join Grinspoon as a session guitarist on there national tour of Alibis and Other Lies. Gabe has since been performing professionally, song writing, recording, (including a recording session in the U.S.A with Gina Schock from the Go-Go’s). He also plays, records and writes songs in his own band and does solo gigs. He continues to contribute as a session guitarist and write songs with Local artists.
Gabe has a wealth of knowledge, is an expert in his field with over 25 years of experience in the music industry. Has guided and mentored many ambitious musician’s. His advice is with dedication anyone can become musically developed. Gabe would like to see the live music world stay alive and wants to share his passion for music. This led him to start teaching over 5 years ago and also open TMMSA with his great team of like minded musicians and educators.
He is a great educator and has taught all walks of life and abilities, hobbyist to professional, from very young to retires. His "down to earth" approach has inspired many learners onto their musical journey
He effortlessly communicates the joy of learning music with a sense of fun and humour with his charismatic approach. He has incredible patience, enthusiasm and dedication. With his wealth of experience and knowledge in all areas of the music world, he assists bringing the thrill and pride of playing guitar to all. Georgina
Gabe’s wife Georgina (nick named Gigi) has had a life long love for music but she doesn’t play any instruments. Gigi our administrator super star
She has been involved in the entertainment industry for over 18 years. During this time she worked for Australian radio network Mix 101.1 and Gold 104.3 where she was on air, doing live crosses/recordings and was involved in many events where she also worked with bands. Gigi was on Channel V tours around Australia traveling with lots of different bands and has managed artists. She has an understanding of the music industry through this experience. She also has a business background with management and marketing. Outstanding customers service skills and is very friendly, energetic and driven. Gigi will be more than happy to assist you with anything you may need to enquire about at TMMSA.
